Lead the development and adoption of a first-class technology planning process within this leading UK banking organisation.

In a newly-formed team within the Architecture and Strategy Planning Group you will work across the IT organisation to shape consistent medium-term and longer term planning artefacts which will deliver organisational value. You will:

  • Establish portfolio management principles across the IT organisation and utilise these to drive the strategic planning agenda
  • Ensure technology roadmaps are communicated to multiple stakeholders
  • Put in place processes and tools to support multiple technology plan versions to achieve medium and longer term objectives

We are looking for a creative thinker: an individual with strong relationship building, complex stakeholder management and team-building skills capable of delivering first class results in a fully collaborative way. You will be adept at influencing others and will use your innovative problem-solving skills to apply technology at a strategic level to solve business problems.

Your background should include:
  • Proven strategy and planning skills with keen awareness of the considerations for successful IT strategy and planning
  • Familiarity with practices and standards for defining strategy, planning and architecture artefacts
  • Proficiency in portfolio planning principles having implemented across the lifecycle within a dynamic and complex IT environment
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and methods
Knowledge of Technology Governance processes and development controls eg EDA, Navigator would be of interest as would an awareness of architecture and planning frameworks such as TOGAF but these are NOT essential.
