This is a brand new role in the Application Management function
of this leading retail banking organisation offering a real
chance to add value and influence its development into a truly
proactive service to the business.
In this key role, you will be responsible for the operational
stability and effectiveness of all core banking applications
by implementing and managing service and application management
best practice (ITIL). On a day-to-day basis this will include
leading the delivery of application support services to the
business, measuring and monitoring performance against SLAs,
with a team comprising own staff as well as onshore and offshore
suppliers. At a strategic level, you will focus on seeking
continual improvements to the quality of applications being
delivered whilst at the same time reducing the long-term costs
of running and supporting applications.
We would like to hear from individuals who feel passionately
about service management and can demonstrate the following:
- Experience of financial services sector - retail banking would be ideal
- ITIL foundation and/or Practitioner with experience across single or multiple applications environments or complex applications
- ITIL training and qualification will be provided if you can demonstrate an understanding of good practice service management fundamentals
- Extensive knowledge and experience of application management and support readiness techniques which span the delivery lifecycle
- Excellent client or stakeholder management skills
- Previous experience as a technical or application support manager
- Broad knowledge of mainframe and distributed Unix/Windows environments
- Experience of managing suppliers to deliver required service performance levels and ensuring value for money
- Worked in a forward thinking proactive application support organisation
- Well developed communication and influencing skills
